Kerala Style Chemmeen Masala Fry (Toddy Shop Style)

Chemmeen Masala Fry is famous for its mouth watering spices that are marinated in a mixture of spices. You will find this authentic delicious spicy dish served at any of the toddy shops in Alappuzha . Try it out!

Chemeen Masala Fry
Cooking Time: 15 min; Preparation Time: 30min; Serves: 5-6

1 kilo of Crispy Spicy shrimp Fry

5 shallots chopped finely
10 cloves of garlic sliced thinly
2 tbsp of ginger chopped thinly
1/2 tsp of chilly powder
1 tsp of cumin powder
1/2 tsp of pepper powder
2 tbsp of lemon juice
3 sprig of curry leaves
1 tbsp of Oil
Salt to taste

Preparation Method: 

Take a non stick pan and add oil keep it on medium flame, add chopped shallots and sauté until transparent, add garlic and ginger and sauté well until the raw smell goes and mixture turns slight brown. Add the remaining dry powders and sauté till you see the oil coming out from the mixture.

Add the crispy spicy fried shrimps and saute well add 2tbsp of lemon juice and let it simmer on low heat for 1 min .Serve with Rice or chapatti i/ Porotta.
